If you are unable to fast during Ramadan due to illness, old age or another valid reason, you are required to feed a person in need for each day of fasting that is missed (“Fidya”).
Your obligation for Fidya is fulfilled with a donation of approximately $20 for each day missed ($600 for all of Ramadan).
For individuals from low-income households, it is best to attend to your family’s needs first before attempting to pay the fidya.
100% of your Fidya donation will go toward the feeding of persons in need.
